A live casino game is a real table game filmed in a studio and streamed to your screen. You place bets through the interface, and the dealer's actions decide the result.

Six things that make live play clearer and easier to keep in check.
You play against the dealer's hand, not other players. Several players may share a table, each with their own seat, or an unlimited number may bet on one common hand. The table panel shows how many decks are used and what a blackjack pays.
A dealer spins a real wheel and ball. European roulette has one zero; American roulette adds a double zero, which raises the house edge. Some tables add extra features, so check the rules panel for how those change the payouts.
Baccarat is a simple comparison of two hands with fixed drawing rules. Game shows use a presenter and a large wheel or board; they are entertainment formats with their own odds, shown in each game's information panel.
A live table runs at the dealer's pace, round after round, and it is easy to lose track of time. The safer gambling tools on your casino account apply to live games just as they do to slots, so it is worth setting them with live play in mind. A deposit limit caps what you can put in over a day, week or month; a reality check or session reminder interrupts you at set intervals to show how long you have been playing; and a time-out locks the account for a period you choose.
Some casinos go further. William Hill says session reminders are compulsory for its UK customers, Mr Green lets you set loss limits as well as deposit limits, and Sky Vegas shows an overview of your net spending over time. Use whichever tools your casino offers before you sit down at a table, not after a long session. If you notice that sessions are running longer than you planned, a time-out of a day or more is a better answer than one more round, and the National Gambling Helpline is there free, day or night, on 0808 8020 133.
Most live tables are broadcast from studios built for the purpose, with several tables and dealers working in shifts. A few operators also stream from real casino floors. Grosvenor, part of the Rank Group, streams some live tables from its own UK casinos as well as from studios. Either way, the game you join is run under the operator's Gambling Commission licence, and the rules of each table — minimum and maximum stakes, side bets, what happens if a round is interrupted — are set out in the table's own information panel and in the operator's terms.
The stake limits introduced for online slots in 2025 (£5 a spin, or £2 for players aged 18 to 24) apply to slots, not to live tables. Table limits are set per table, so check the range shown before you join rather than assuming it matches the table you played at last time.
What players in Great Britain ask most about live dealer games.
Neither. Live games use physical cards, wheels and shoes in a studio, and the house edge is built into the rules of each game, as it is in a land-based casino. Over time the casino expects to win, so treat any live session as paid entertainment.
No — live tables take real stakes only. Even free demo games elsewhere on a UK casino sit behind an age check.
Each round has a short timer for placing bets before the dealer deals or spins. It keeps the game moving for everyone at the table and cannot be extended for one player.
The £5 and £2 per-spin limits apply to online slots, not to live tables. Each live table has its own minimum and maximum stake, shown before you join. Your own deposit limit still applies to everything you play.
A stable internet connection and an up-to-date browser or app. If the stream drops mid-round, the operator's terms explain how that round is settled — check them before you play.
